Every person appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court , before he enters upon his office , takes an oath before the President or some person appointed in that behalf by him in the form prescribed in the Constitution . उच्चतम न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश के रूप में नियुक्त प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को अपना पद ग्रहण करने से पूर्व राष्ट्रपति या उसके द्वारा इस निमित्त नियुक्त व्यक्ति के समक्ष संविधान में विहित रीति से शपथ लेनी होती है .

Parliament is not empowered to discuss the conduct of any Judge of the Supreme Court or of a High Court in the discharge of his duties except in the case of a motion for presenting an address to the President praying for the removal of a Judge -LRB- article 121 -RRB- . संसद को अधिकार नहीं है कि वह उच्चतम न्यायालय अथवा उच्च न्यायालय के किसी न्यायाधीश के कर्तव्यपालन संबंधी उसके आचरण के बारे में चर्चा कर सके सिवाय उस स्थिति के जब किसी न्यायाधीश को हटाए जाने की प्रार्थना करने वाला कोई समावेदन राष्ट्रपति के सम्मुख प्रस्तुत किया जाए ( अनुच्छेद 121 ) .

The Chief Justice of India may also invite a retired judge of the Supreme Court or a retired judge of the High Court having the qualification to be a judge of the Supreme Court , to sit and act as a judge of the Supreme Court for such period as he deems necessary . भारत का मुख्य न्यायमूर्ति उच्चतम न्यायालय के किसी सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश को या उच्चतम न्यायालय का न्यायाधीश होने की योग्यता रखने वाले उच्च न्यायालय के किसी सेवा निवृत्त न्यायाधीश को उतनी अवधि के लिए जितनी वह आवश्यक समझे , उच्चतम न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश के रूप में पद धारण करने तथा कार्य करने के लिए आमंत्रित कर सकता है .
